  1. If they get off to a good start, anything is possible for them in the pacific standings. Young players can take the leash off and play their game and develop and there’s enough depth to fill gaps. But no bad start in October please.

  2. I think there will be a lot of pent-up energy due to coming that close to the playoffs. Macklin will hopefully have some pressure relieved from him with dudes like Marchment and veterans like Trouba to stabilize things. Also, Askarovs contract means he will be playing like a beast in order to earn a higher amount down the road.

    I think Stenberg might be a little underwhelming, but I really hope I'm wrong on that one.

  3. Sharks fan here. Solid all around analysis. There’s a lot of optimism on the sharks boards right now, but your analysis is more objective. The pacific was weak last year and looks to be even weaker this season. Even Edmonton and Vegas may have regressed a bit. LA lost Kopi and got older. Ducks are chaotic right now. The problem for the sharks is if nurse and trouba don’t play well, they are stuck with them for four more years. Also, your point about a lack of puck mover is spot on.
