Celebrini is my favourite player, but I have to agree. The % of the cap he’s going to eat up the first year it kicks in is higher than both McDavid and Crosby on their first contract extensions, both of whom were literal generational talents and came off of winning the Art Ross and Hart Trophies right before signing. It’s still not a bad contract, but I was a bit disappointed in my GOAT. Was 16M not still enough while helping the team a little bit? With how many talented RFAs the Sharks have coming up, I won’t be surprised if they run into cap problems.
