Winning with a older core may bring some experience but it doesn’t always work, Look at the canes their team is majority young and look at the FLA team they have 15 players that are 30 plus years old, statistically players reached 30 plus years decline meaning they lose a gear with speed, it takes longer to heal and the point production goes down . I’d take the risk with a younger team that can put in the work and gain the experience and learn the skills needed to win year in / out instead of a 30 something player hanging on to their best years.

Hamilton is a RD and a power play guy, the devils wont retain and we just paid up for Raddysh to be our PP1 guy. If Rielly can be a 35-40 point PP2 guy and play better under a new system. I’d keep Rielly and hope for a bounce back to 2021/23 minus PP points, up his value and then trade him

You want an older player if you want the extra boost to win the Cup. The Leafs are nowhere close to being a Cup contender.
