  1. Keep Monty for the first half or so, send Fowler to Laval to get amximum starts. Montuy is worth nothing of real value now (second round pick is 20% chance of playing 100 game in NHL and we probably wont get that much). If he bounces back we could get more than now and Fowler get the starts he needs. Mid season, someone will be desperate for a goalie, if Monty bounces back he will be worth more, if not put him on wavers and bring Fowler back to NHL.

  2. Fowler needs to get game minutes, not sit on the bench as. Backup. So he can only do that in Laval, with occasional call up to Montreal to showcase his skills to the world and get us points in the standings. Ironically , it could be that Fowler’s value can be boosted so much that he can be a key piece in a trade for a Big-time player the Habs reall6. End this season..?

  3. With an 84 game schedule I see Fowler as back up. We do not want Dobes playing more than 50-55 games. That leaves 29- 34 games (58 to 63 points in the standings). I think Monty had a bad year and a bad goaltending coach last year (he was sent down before we changed goaltender coach) But I really want to see Fowler get us at least 40 of those points. 1

  4. With Hellebuyck wanting out , Montreal now has a new viable option to trade Montembeault to a team in need. Question now is what does Winnipeg have to offer in return. Personally, I would prefer Monty stays in Montreal , allowing Fowler to get more games in Laval. Even Price took his time making it to the Canadiens roster full time , thanks to Halak.

  5. Monty gets traded before the season starts or he gets sent to Laval. There is no way Monty starts the year in Montreal if management is serious about having a great season and going to the conference title.

  6. I am all about asset management and 2027-28 being the first "go year" when Slaf, Hutson, Demidov are maturing into their primes, plus some rookies this year and Hage and Zharovsky on the edge of breaking in…But when it comes to the goalies, I want Fowler in the NHL ASAP. I think we are pretty certain that Montembeault is not in the Habs' long term plans, and I would like to find him a new home where he can thrive and start developing Fowler as an NHL goalie so we can decide who to protect next summer. I think bringing Fowler up IS asset management.

  7. Don't know if this guy will be a star player, thinking he can come in top 6 and have an Impact is kinda nuts, he's not Demidov and even he had problems being consistent. Newhook was an amazing young talent and he's a good third liner max, an ok 2nd liner.

  8. Reporting on another reporters report about what he heard another reporter say…. Yall just make your own news at this point trying to have something to talk about..lol…

  9. i love you Jess but if you put Fowler in Nhl now you will loses him in expansion because he will not have had time to prove if he is better than Dobes and you can't protect the 2 so wait 1 more year we will see/know what Dobes can be and Fowler get to play 100% of games not 20 if we are in race and Dobes is doing good no place to TRY/take chance whit Fowler !!

  10. I’ll keep m Monty unless it’s a good offer. Fowler gets more playing time in the minors. So he will be well seasoned for 2nd half in the nhl. If Monty is playing well, we can get something good for him midseason. If not, we trade him for low offer. It’s good to have a vet around for at least part of this season because you don’t want to put too much pressure on young goalies, especially the younger Fowler. If Monty starts hot, it makes the decision easier to send Fowler down for 30-40 games.
