The Vancouver Canucks have a project on their hands.
Unlike the Calgary Flames, there are some veterans who could potentially be traded.
But, for most of them, they have to rectify their trade value.
On the latest episode of Locked On Canucks, Beggsy and Bhawan talk about trade candidates among Canucks veterans, and strategize how the Canucks can get the most out of them to turn those guys into actual trade chips.
They also get into what Jim Rutherford’s legacy in Vancouver is, on the heels on him getting honoured by his former team.

It's Petey talk all day everyday. You keep him if he has a smile on his face and enjoys playing hockey the way he used to. I believe the vets they brought in, along with Manny as the coach, will give him a good chance to resurrect his career. This isn't a make or break season and if he has a bounce back season then it would be stupid to trade him. You will need to wait 2 seasons to see what he is at this point. If he's bad next season, then the team is bad and you get a better draft pick and you'll have to trade him on the cheap. If he's good then you keep him to play with the young players on the team. He's basically untradeable in either scenario. You need to get out of your feelings on this guy.

Now that's one way to end the Trevor, well done…ππ½ππ½ππ½
I have zero expectations for this team, I just want this franchise go through a proper rebuild this time…πππ
Chytil is about to retire before his contract ends
Kyleβs voice is the most annoying on earth. Also you need some vets to help create the culture. Hronek and Brock are those Guys. Weak takes this episode. Disappointing
EP40 already was a top 27 Center in the NHL point-wise, IN HIS WORSE SEASON, and he is a strong defensive center. There are 32 teams in the NHL so he is a #1 center by logic. He still is high value on the Canucks. He doesn't want to be traded as far as we know. Just facts. His contract should be honored if you like it or not. It is 100% up to him where he plays. Deal with it. Shirtless dude needs to cope!
Rush is the most successful Canadian band of all time, The Guess Who are the greatest Canadian band of all time, and the Tragically Hip are the most Canadian band of all time π
The rebuild will take years, so we can take our time rebuilding the trade value of the vets. Iβd love to have three first round picks in 2027, but it is nearly as valuable to have 28 and 29 firsts, and if we canβt get full value trading a vet this year, then hang on to them for a full season and trade them in the off season or at the 2028 TDL.
βThe heartbeat of a dead organizationβ will be on Brockβs banner when it is raised to the rafters. π π π
Corey Pronman of the Athletic says the Canucks will still be a 32nd place team in 2031! Are we the next Buffalo Sabres? ππ«ͺ
Chytil is tradeable if healthy but mostly because his contract is expiring. I think Chytil is a good player but I also think he probably needs to retire. He keeps getting concussions, that will only get worse.
As long as we trade all the vets in the next 2-3 years it's fine. No more of these "oh they need to teach the kids how to play" BS. That's what the coaches are for. Montreal accelerated their rebuild by winning all their trades. We need to do the same.
Jim Rutherford was the les Snead of the NHL F them picks was Rutherfords rep just like Snead in the NFL
demko is worth a first in 2030 from the oilers… mcluvin mcmuffin will be gone, oilers pick might be top 10 by that point
trevor should become a male stripper…
