  1. It's going to be harder every season for the Islanders in the mushy middle to make a push into the playoffs, with so many other middling teams improving, but Bo knows hockey, Schaefer is amazing, and Sorokin gives them a chance to win every game he plays.

  2. Islandersright where they always are, overlooked. Depth has been this teams problem. Palmieri was a big loss early, then Romanov, team still was right there but then injuries on defense down the stretch did them in. Hopefully the kids they got Eiserman, Ekland and Aitcheson can give that boost. Valarmov played for Bridgeport for a game and looked pretty good, his work in the off season and some time in the AHL will tell if he can get back to the island.

  3. Edit- ignore me. got corrected that a lot of the contracts will be ending just in time to give them all the flexibility(and more) i was worried they would lack.

im not gonna claim to be a pinnacle of hockey wisdom(at all. im basically a moron), but i honestly don't like the Roster. it's not BAD at all, in terms of talent, i just feel like they're overpaying by a small amount on a lot of players, which adds up quickly and ends up restricting flexibilty. my main concern with it, is being able to afford schaefer when he comes off his ELC without having to make to many sacrifices in other places.

  4. Welcome to the Schaefer Show. 1st year DeBoer usually does wonder on a team. I still think it needs more. 7th in the Metro with 83-88 points.

  5. Islanders are aging with little cap room to pivot with no single player over $10M, which is unusual. Lots of folks look at the various aspects of this team and claim they aren't bad. Not many ringing endorsements of anything though they have a couple of younger player they are banking on heavily.

The channel vote / poll continues to be useless.

  6. Nice Knicks jersey. For some reason they missed spelled Knicks though by spelling it landers. I hope Barzal gets into the 80 point range. I hope Schaefer becomes a super star so there's a reason to watch Islanders games.

  7. ah none Islanders thought about save percentage. I always disliked that a hit post was not a shot on goal, when its actually a shot directly on goal. Goalie just missed it. Then if you have a post and it doesn't go in no shot on goal, but if it hits someone after like a goalie or defensemen its a shot on goal and a goal. Wouldn't that be an own goal then since there was no shot on goal? The goalie or the defender knocks it in even if its by mistake. Whatever, stupid rules. Stupid lower save percentages by the puck wasn't heading directly towards the net but the goalie stops it so it doesn't deflect and then get knocked int he goal then making it a shot on goal even though the original shot was not on goal. Which way is it?
