  1. i'm ok with schneider getting traded…i'm ok with a 3rd pair D man competition between vaak, iorio & morrow but I also see the value in schneider because if 1 of the top 4 D miss games, schneider would be the automatic fill-in. though choices to make but it's a good problem to have

  2. I understand the need for F depth, and realistically Schneider is the only real piece to help get that. Doing that seems to be a bit of Robbing Peter to pay Paul. Moving him opens a big gap on D3. Not that D3 plays a lot, but they do play and Vak or Iorio aren't fixing the D pairing depth issues they tried to fix this offseason.

  3. Man, Vaaks EV defence is 90%
…which means he ranks in the top 10% of NHL defensemen at preventing scoring chances. His first passes is at 72%, so that’s at a solid level too. He does make some mistakes, but he remains a perfectly capable NHL defenseman—the kind who slots in at number 6 or 7—whether you like it or not. Of course, the Rangers’ defensive corps is incredibly strong right now, especially since I believe Smith will break into the top four immediately. So, unless Schneider gets traded, Vaakanainen is unlikely to see ice time barring injuries. Still, it might be worth including him in a trade package somewhere.

  4. But we def dont wanna trade Robertson so it has to be Vaaks or Schneid. But i agree it might be smart to trade him. But return has to be good it cant be again Kakko <—> Borgen it was terrible. We trade pick number two for Will Borgen. U should get fired after that kinda move every single fucking time so Chris Drury is a very lucky man. Normal business life we wouldve been fired at least 3 times.

Move Schneider and Vak. Get cap space and potential assets back although won’t be anything of much substance. Let morrow and Iorio battle for 6 spot and then we have good left shot d in pipeline. Schnieder isn’t worth keeping around at this price point after they’ve made those signings it feels. As much as I’d like to keep him because I’ve always liked him as a player.
