McDavid would cost the equivalent of 5 1st round picks. So a package of 2 or 3 1st round picks plus 2 or 3 young players and prospects that are 1st round quality or that were taken in he 1st round.
That said i would offer : Kapanen, Fowler, Engstrom and two 1st round picks. Pretty much anyone other than Hage in our prospect pool.
If there was a remote chance that McDavid was on the market….expect part of your top six to be gutted in the process, they likely will not be looking for much in the way of draft picks or prospects unless its like Hage and Zharkovsky.
The only way we be getting mcdavid is if he takes the C from suzuki or stays an A

If the team can make a play for Draisatl + McDavid then Oilers can rebuild using Habs prospects and Habs can give up one of our valuable young top 6 guys and still end up with more cups than if we don’t make the deal.
Wow what a breaking story. So the rest of the league has no interest in him, what a stupid story. There are 13 teams with much more Cap Space then Montreal that will outbid them every day of the week. Montreal Fans are diluted true believers they are the center of the Hockey Universe. Montreal is one of the smallest team in the leagues and there star players are tiny, Montreal's gonna get mugged, and they are so small there is NO cup in their immediate future.
P.S. McDavid grew up a passionate Leafs Fan and have already said he wants to play in Toronto at some point in his career, so he is NOT gonna go to Montreal.
