Chicago messed up Korchinski’s development by having him play 76 games in the NHL during his 19yr old season and then spending the next couple in the AHL.
Seems like opening night defense could still be Nurse, Trouba, Orlov, Kesselring, Dickinson, Cagnoni, and Allan (or another player they acquire before the season).
Defensemen take seasons to develop. He made the leap to the NHL which was 1 step to far. He will make Orlov expendable by the end of the year. Luka doesn’t fill the same role. They’re not even comparable. Sam made Muky expendable. Sam played in a bad defensive group and will eclipse his previous year given the opportunity.
The Bystedt and Musty situations are something to look at, imo. Goodrow and Dellandrea are pretty useless, and are not getting dropped. If im one of these kids (add Lund to it) I consider asking for a trade
Omg you made me feel so much better. I completely forgot they can send Dickenson down to the Cuda because he was horrible last year. He was directly responsible for a ton of goals last year getting beat over and over. He definitely needs to be on the Cuda and hopefully we can have Cagnoni and maybe Pholkamp starting opening night.
