The Blues are a sleeper in the West, in my opinion anyway.

The blues have a very bright future.
LET'S GO BLUES
I’m glad you pointed out the lack of a strong point man on the power play. But I am optimistic about the team’s future. Also are you ever going to do a GM career video on Doug Armstrong?
LGB
If the defense performs the Blues will make the playoffs.
They're one of those teams if their centers work out they could be very hard to beat. But that means you're asking for Thomas to have a healthy season, McTavish to bounce back to be a 50-60 point guy, and Dvorsky to finally take a step to s how he can be a legit NHL center. That's a lot of "ifs" that you need to fall in line with one of the hardest position to play.
The thing that sucks as a Blues fan is that they are so middling and at the end of the year they make a late push with some young talent, and the front office uses it to justify making splash moves and instead try to add to the team with similar talent, hoping it works out. Armstrong was trying to catch that lightning in a bottle of 2019 since that season and it just hasn't panned out.
This is a very very sneaky good team. Give them credit they are an ELITE organization when it comes to player development
Cant wait for the Habs review ! Hockey cant come soon enough.
We love you THG, keep it up
Let’s go blues !!
I think we need a video about Armstrong GM career.
Absolutly love love love that jersey you have. Beautiful blue the shield is perfect. And the stripping and even the lil detail of the strings set it off . Wish I was a blues fan. Lol
With the Central being the way it is, it might take a couple more years till they're playoff contenders.
I say they're incredibly mid, will finish near the bottom of the West.
One thing worth nothing about my beloved Blues: last year, pretty much everyone on the team underperformed at a ridiculous level until about February. Everyone. Forwards, defense, goaltending, it was a hodgepodge of injuries or massive underachieving or both. I wish it had lasted a few more months so we could have gotten a better draft pick, but I think the Blues we saw in the last two months of the season are much closer to what the team actually is at baseline. Stats and probability would indicate that there has to be some degree of bounce back this year for several of those guys, and I think that plus the off-season improvements mean you're going to see a Blues team that's gonna surprise a lot of people this year. Not saying they're going on a deep run, but I will be disappointed if they don't make the playoffs. Not surprised, necessarily, but disappointed. They absolutely have the pieces to be competitive, especially with the young guys continuing to mature.
All the pieces are in place, now they have to grow their game together. And have a better start to the season unlike the last few seasons where they're playing catch-up all year.
honestly pretty happy to see St louis with a low hate and decently high fan %. solid middle of the pack team most years, and they've earned a stable reputation in the league.
This team will be lucky to see 94 points.
I think one player who is going very under the radar is Jiricek. He was very noticeable for the Thunderbirds in the playoffs, and if he was on the L side rather than R, I’d put him as a lock for opening night. They may just want to give him more PP time in Springfield, because it looks like he plans to play the point on PP2 at a minimum in STL.
For the goaltending, my only wish is that they could get the Swedish goalies in NA. Both Hofer and Binner’s contracts are up after this season, so there will be at least on opening. We don’t have a solution in Springfield.
I also think the more balanced schedule will help the Blues this season. They were doomed last year with the poor start, and there just wasn’t the time for a reset / coaching to get them to the right way of playing until the Olympic break.
As a St. Louisan, here's the difference between St. Louis and Saint Louis
St. Louis is the city
Saint Louis (Louis IX) is the French King and Saint
If they have a good start to the season, they should make the playoffs. Monty (for the first time) got to pick his own assistant coaches. They have the talent to be a top team in the west, it will all depend on the defense and goaltending.
Western Conference Finals appearance incoming
This team is not going to surprise anyone. Look at the roster. Just look at it. Their best player, Robert Thomas, is a 2nd line center in most contending teams. Not every single team is going to be a positive surprise or a black horse contender, because seven players happen have breakout seasons simultaneously.
Let's Go Blues!!!
Love the sweater
Love me some Blues! 🎶
This year will be interesting, next year even more so! LGB
Blues are an interesting team right now. They don’t have the big names but they’ve got quite a few sneaky good guys and numerous prospects with solid potential. I think they are on the right track.
But they may or may not be quite there right now. I’ve got them as a playoff bubble team that has the potential to surprise people. Competing in a tough division will make it difficult. They will need guys to play to their potential and some things to go their way. But look out in a few years.
Let's go blues
Let’s go Blues!
I hope they live up to your optimism. Let’s Go Blues!
The Blues have underutilized Parayko on the PP. He has a great shot and is capable of blasting some one timers.
I knew i liked you for some reason. Obviously you know your hockey… and this video is proof of that. Go Blues!!
2nd line will the Mc's with either Buch or Neighbors
If you include Stenberg in rookies, you gotta put Lindstein in as well. Both performed solidly in their time last year
There is definitely something wrong with the Western Conference placement poll numbers, he had both Utah and Anaheim in 8th place
Nice jersey. I keep hoping the Blues bring that one back.
From the Olympic break until playoffs the Blues were tops in NHL for last year. Screwed up a good pick in the draft but Steen showed he is worthy with his picks and trades.
Mid+, playoffs sure why not, contender no
These NHL GMs need to stop drinking and boating. Its time to get back to work.
Many people underestimate what the Blues have in the pipeline and I think that’ll really show in 3+ years with the development of Carbonneau, Jiricek, Lawrence, Mailloux, Dvorsky, Snuggerud, and others. Blues have hit so well in their draft classes the last 15 years and it’s always underrated. They won a Cup in 2019 without having 3+ guys all drafted in the top 10 like many of these other teams have like the Avs, dynasty Hawks, Tampa etc. I think the Avs had 6 top 16 draft picks before their Cup meanwhile Blues only had 1.
From 2009 and on:
Avs had 1st ovr, 2nd ovr, 3rd ovr, 2 4th ovrs, 2 10th ovrs, 11th ovr, and a 16th ovr.
Blues since 2006:
1st ovr, 4th ovr, 10th ovr, 11th ovr (this year lol), 14th ovr, 2 16th ovrs.
That’s it. 1st ovr erik johnson ruined his career with an injury too
Yet Avs and Blues are still tied in Cups during that span…
difference of a real team and a tanking team for a decade, I would f’ing hope Avs would win a cup with all that!
And yet Avs still had to run Binnington to beat them in 2022😂😂😂
Jack Finley as an option for 4th line centre? Him, Torpenchko & Johnston would be a huge 4th line. Along with Parayko & Carlo, those are big boys.
Now that armstrong is out, the only way is up….he is hands down a turd of a gm. Ruined this team.
As a blues fan I love our 4 forward lines the defense needs work which I can see a Suter trade for a dman
The next few years will be about potential. If the team stays healthy it will be a good year. Cannot wait for Harenstam to get out on the ice.
Blues fan here. Great assessment. I think the Blues make the playoffs. Mctavish will help the PP with his shot and net front play. Blues missed Bolducs shot last year on the PP. Really excited for the depth in the forward group. Also hoping Mailloux takes a leap forward. Hopefully buyers at the deadline!
Dont sleep on Bennington. He knows hoelfer has taken the #1 spot from him and its a contract year , could be a huge driver for him to be at his best
