RELEASE THE KRACKEN!!!!! Into the dumpster again
They have a 2nd line, a 3rd line, a 2nd line, and a 4th line. No star power.
I like their netminders but they need to do better. They made a play for Robertson and I'm not sure what elese they can do. If players don't want to be in Seattle, the team is destined to be lower half.
Matty Beniers! (I'll never get tired of watching him play and hearing announcers shout about his talent!)
What i hate about the kracken is there inability to build a competitive team since expansion. But not most hated. Maybe 2nd most
As this video is newer I have not seen it yet but for those that are calling "sell the team" there are 8 other teams that are older that have never won. What about them?
Watching the Seattle and Las Vegas NHL teams is like watching the movie Twins – only with the personalities of DeVito's and Schwarzenegger's characters reversed.
Suggestion / channel votes: those '0,xx – 2,xx% figures are ridiculous & embarrissing. They're in almost all Season Previews. No info of any worth in those. Next time, ask for top three this'n'that – perhaps even top 5. Would give a sensible spread.
At best this team is mediocre. Besides 1 playoff appearance. The Kraken have been a disaster. They never been consistent. They haven’t been a threat in the western conference and they are a wild card team at best. There will probably be another coaching change in the before the first half ends. They didn’t even get talent in FA and even if they tried really hard. Nobody wants to sign tons of money to even play for the franchise because they don’t have promising prospects that could grow the culture for the future.
I think I voted Kraken least favorite because on their home broadcasts the guy who always goes "hey hey what do you say?" doesn't finish the rhyme with "[insert goal scorer] scored a goal today!" It's basically a freebie but he just doesn't do it. You always gotta take the free rhyme, every time.
The most depressing team I've ever rooted for. Sigh. I can't bring myself to get excited for this season even though it's exactly what I want to happen. We're finally playing the kids. Finally. 😮💨
Was nice to see Grubauer bounce back this last year, it seems like he loves the city so if his play keeps up it would be nice to see him retire here.
Let's be real their forward group is very weak
If you HATE the Kraken you might be a psychopath 😂
The Kraken are very much your stereotypical Seattle team. Get everyone's hope up, then break everyone's hearts. Maybe in a few decades they'll have their consistently good era like the Seahawks are having right now.
Here's hoping the Kraken can get something going this season if they can help push the oilers out of the playoffs I'll be one happy camper.
At what point is Beniers a disappointment?
He had a promising rookie year and then has never had a year as good since, he won a calder and never took the next step.
Fun fact, the one person also voted them most hated 🤔
MCU and THG crossover confirmed, lol😂😂😂
as a kraken fan, its rough. they really need to commit to being bad for a few years for any change to happen. in the meantime, we’ll suffer in mediocrity.
Nice video. Patiently waiting for my Devils preview video! 😈
It’s all recency bias. Seattle is still the 2nd most successful expansion team in the NHL after 5 seasons even with all their mediocrity…
I really don't know what we're gonna do with the Kraken
The most notable thing about this team is when one of their fans told Vancouver's assistant manager that he had a cancerous mole on his neck. Vegas set a high bar, but it'd be nice if Seattle was relevant.
I am glad the Seattle market is represented in the league and I don't want them to leave, but I swear, I don't know what they are doing. The Kraken BADLY need a superstar.
I don’t hate the team but I sure hate the city. Complete toilet.
Edit: Give Ty Nelson a chance on D.
The Seattle mid
Maybe my expectations are really low, but I really wish they could at least be competitive against Edmonton for once this year. They seem to be okay against the rest of the league, but they constantly get their brains beat in every time they see the Oilers and it just sets everything back.
They don’t win enough to appeal to casual fans who just want a 50/50 to root for. They don’t have a plan for hardcore fans to get invested in. This team is completely directionless
Seattle should just tear it down commit to being bad for 3 years and build up a contender
When Seattle did their expansion draft they looked at all the ways Vegas leveraged theirs, including side deals, and decided they didn't want a good team. I remember the sports media overcompensating by congratulating their choices by continually congratulating them about how much cap space they had. When everyone passed over Shane Wright in the entry draft they thought he couldn't be that bad and now they're trying to shop him around. I thought they made a good move to get Kaapo Kakko from the Rangers fire sale though.
Honestly as a Vancouver fan, I've really enjoyed watching the Kraken because I don't have a lot of emotional investment in the team. I can go watch a game like I did when they played against the Stars, or the Kings, and just enjoy watching both teams play. Them not playing well means tickets stay somewhat reasonable for a techbro city. And I don't feel frustrated in the same way at the end of the game.
Watching the Seattle and Las Vegas NHL teams is like watching the movie Twins – only with the personalities of DeVito's and Schwarzenegger's characters reversed.
😒😒😁😁
They are in no man’s land
Their marketing, media, facilities, and general operations is amazing and top notch! But the execution on team construction leaves a lot to be desired. Are they a club or are they a TEAM?!
Unless one or two players break out offensively this season, I believe the Kraken will be in the mediocre center again. Also, it's odd to me that the Kraken's farm clubs (AHL – Coachella Valley Firebirds and ECHL – Kansas City Mavericks) have made it to the playoffs more times than the parent club.
As a Avalanche fan, the year they made it into the playoffs and they happen to beat us, they got a lot of kraken fans that were actively talking shit and acting like their team was the shit over their first and only playoff appearance and victory, a lot of people booing Cale Makar in Seattle because of a hit that they thought was dirty when in reality, Jordan Eberle their captain started the boarding 1st, and another guy one of the kraken a bigger defenseman at the time ended up breaking Andrew Coglionos neck, effectively ending his career, as a diehard avalanche fan this is gonna sound strange but the team I hate the most is the Seattle Kraken.
Middle 6 F and Top 4 D Paradise. There is no gamebreaker and I expect more mediocrity. 6th in the Pacific with 79-84 points.
Cause "that hurricanes hockey, baby."
I'm predicting the Seattle Kraken to miss the playoffs again this season.
I love my team I’m hyped for this season I watch every year every game this team is a star away but the way we played in our second year we have more talent and can adapt that same style. Not going to sit here and argue with people who don’t watch the team there is reason to be skeptical. Already bought a pair of tickets to the December 4th game gotta try to see them in LV or LA again, I love winning in their building 😊
For all you people who think that Bettman just waved his magic wand and made Vegas great out of the gate, I give you the Seattle Kraken in year 6……
Last place or bust. This team isn't good enough to win anything so they need to actually tank for once…
I guess im one of the few that hate the kraken lol
Me, hitting Play: This is gonna piss me off
Me, at the end of the video: Yup, pretty much
Very even-handed preview, no notes.
The Kraken feel like the Blue Jackets of the West.
You nailed it with Mediocrity. No more said……Still a tough team that can't be taken lightly. Lol that's what happens with the epitome of Mediocrity, can talk all the pluses and minuses.
yep welcome to seattle sports it's pretty mid in the major leagues. I'm hoping to listen to most of the games on the radio come october
The biggest loss this offseason is Eddie Olczyk
20-14-7 (94 pt pace) in the 1st Half.
14-23-4 (64 pt pace) in the 2nd Half.
A tale of two teams, one okay and one that barely finishes above Vancouver (after they begin trading assets.)
Adding some punch would really help to stay consistent. Adding someone dynamic to an aging D-corps who’s in their mid-20’s would really help (Ryker Evans at 24, youngest D-man of the eight they used last year.)
VANCOUVER FANS! IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW!
