  1. Like the Canes, the Bolts have a NEXT year problem with ten RFAs/UFAs next off-season at the NHL level and another dozen at the AHL level. Bolts need to deal with the netminding depth sooner rather than later. The NHLPA should push for a third goalie addition to all NHL rosters. They'll have to extend some of the old stadium benches. 😁

  2. 4:30 Goncalves is such a fascinating player to me. I feel like at times he differs too much to his linemates, especially when he is with some of those premier players. I think if he were to shoot more, the points would increase because he has a sneaky good shot, but he very rarely shoots the park. I would also love to see him carry the puck more because he is a very good skater, but in order to take that next step, he’s going to have to assert himself on the ice more rather than letting the game come to him as a lot of young players struggle with.

  3. Lineup notes:
1: Holmberg will play with Girgensons and Gourde. That line was amazing last season.
2: Carlson will play with Moser on the top pair (replacing Raddysh’s role from last season). Moser’s breakout came from his strong side, no need to move him back with Hedman.
3: Hedman will pair with D’Astous (the ‘s’ at the end of his name isn’t pronounced btw)
4: Hildeby will back up Vasilevskiy. JBB confirmed he’s trying to move Johansson.
5: Guentzel and Goncalves will likely be swapped (though the top 2 lines will probably be heavily rotated).

  4. The bolts had their era of success. Now all I see them as is a cracked wall towards the cup. Whoever faces them will definitely need to give it their best. But I’m not sure if the team that beats them will have enough in the tank to go all the way after a heavyweight battle.

  5. NHL Top 5 team, never forget. they got beaten by the 6th best team in the NHL in 7 games in the closest and most exiting first round series of 2026. they did great.
they ain't going nowhere. still a top 10 team.

  6. The Cup window for Tampa Bay has mostly been slammed shut on them by the Panthers, with one arm crushed in the process. They should make the playoffs again, but a lot of their season is going to be dictated by how ultra-violent their meetings with Florida are this season, starting with two pre-season games, which should also let us know how things are going to go this season at the Department of Player Safety.

  7. They need to get Vasy down to 50 games. Since he had his major back surgery 3 years ago his recovery isn't the same.

When you're 27 and fully healthy you can play 60 games. When you're 32 and have had several surgeries, not so much

  8. They COULD win the Cup, but only if EVERYTHING goes right for them – Florida and Carolina falling-off, avoiding key injuries, their big name players having a good year, the younger teams in the Atlantic taking a step back…
