I noticed you didn't mention a certain player ranked number 6. And ya, Raddysh isn't great. He scored a few last year, had 1 or 2 in the playoffs on the pp but has he ever been recognized for his defensive game in any kind of way ? How about STFU & see what he does as the Leaf's top pair RD. This guy is NOT some 'flash in the pan'. His full seasons went 33, then 37 points with little PP time. Very good production as an NHL RD. Last year with Hedman out he went to top pair & PP1. Seized the opportunity.
44 points at even strength. +21 against top lines. Jon Cooper's assessment…"this guy plays the right way & makes quality passes in all 3 zones". Tampa offered him 5 x 6.5M. When they realized he was going to market, they did a 'sign/trade' to get something instead of zero. That allowed Toronto to give him the 8th year. He will be good.
