  1. Laine to these Leafs seems far fetched to me. They’ve prioritized two way, responsible play with their forward additions. Laine has AHL level off-puck acumen

  2. If he's healthy he is scoring more than 20. In Goals Above Expected he is by far and wide THE MOST effective goal scorer in the NHL past 10 years. And no, that's not something I'm just throwing out, it's a real fact that you can look up.
    The problem is the health issue, it's an unknown factor that's difficult to really do much about and you can't really forecast that stuff either.
    He scored 20+13=33p in 52 games in Montreal 2024-25 after coming off a devastating knee injury that he didn't even have surgery on, because he wanted to get back to playing. When he is healthy, he will score point per game pace. Unfortunately, that's a big if.
