Five Philadelphia Flyers prospects took the ice in Windsor, Ontario at the 2026 World Junior Summer Showcase — and the results were genuinely encouraging.
Jack Nesbitt was named Canada’s Player of the Game in the Summer Showcase finale despite not registering a point — winning puck battles and creating positive plays throughout.
Carter Amico was described as one of the best players at the entire tournament — showcasing his eye-popping mobility for a 6-foot-5 defenseman and even flashing offense with the puck on his stick.
Brek Liske dressed in two games for Canada, Max Laatikainen collected an assist for Finland, and Jack Murtagh represented USA White.

I’m leaning towards boycotting this team until they fire Brent Flair and take the draft away from Danny Dumbass. Do something anything to let us know u see it to and something needs to change. Every year we drafted worse. 8 first and 13 second round picks with two players to show in Martone and Michkov. We passed and traded away from everything we need starting with Zeev to run the PP and still didn’t take Axel Eloff a quick two way RD who who’s probably the best QB defensemen in the draft. Went last pick in the 4th right in front of the USAD league starting goaltender who’s 6”5 and moves crazy quick 😢😢
I’ve coached more 1-0 wins. than 6-5 wins. I’ll take a bench full of high IQ player, that can grasp a system with efficient execution. Rather than a bunch of snipers with no desire to play with a defensive dog mentality and no idea what the other 4 skaters are doing. But points are sexy.
Amico’s skating looked fantastic at Dev Camp, along with Knuble. Fast, fast, fast.
According to "everybody's favourite" hockey talking head, Colby Cohen, Carter Amico could be a steal, given where he was drafted. Cohen said he watched Amico in a May playoff series, and he was dominant. He was totally impressed with what he saw in Amico. He was on Nitty Gritty going over prospects with the guys and went out of his way to pump Amico's tires.
-7 is brutal hopefully he learns from it
I hope Nesbitt can become more than just another bottom six with size, but I still feel skipping on Jackson Smith is gonna sting.
