Why did Adam carjack mitch marner?
While others are golfing, he's training with some of the best young players in the league. He'll be ready, but don't expect him to be in his prime and score over a point per game.
Here is the perfect reason why you cant win in toronto..Every media outlet is going to disect this kid to the pressure on him is huge…Leave him alone already and let him play his first game before judging him to death….
Why not start McKenna in the AHL for a bit so he can get acclimated to the pro game? The NCAA is physical but it's still just 20-25 year old's playing a schedule that's half the length of an NHL season with more time between games. Rather than throwing him to the wolves on the top line in Toronto.
Theres only one way to find out.
The new generation handle pressure differently. He'll be fine.

McKenna is going to run over Mitch first opportunity he gets
He looked tired yet still pushed 17 hours on the ice.
Gavin will be fine. Until the inevitable car jacking
He's a very skilled player and he'll fit in nicely, there'll be an adjustment period but he's already used to being under a microscope, he's level headed and will do fine. Although fame is what many people want, it can end up a curse if you shun the limelight or your psyche can't adjust to the Constant attention.
Is the spotlight ready for Mckenna ? It will be interesting to see how Matthews will respond now that he has someone new to carry him. When Marner disappeared from the Leafs, Matthews didn’t wait for playoffs to disappear and was golfing in April while Marner led the league in playoff scoring. I guess Mitch wasn’t the problem after all.
I think he's going to surprise people with how good he is how fast.

What really funny is that Mitch signed the year before contracts blew the F up. He lost about 35 million lol
I hope they give him rookie Auston Matthews treatment (PP1/2, no PK, play against #2/#3 line). Would be a mistake to just throw him into PP1/Line1 minutes against the best of the best
