As for your thoughts on #40 Pettersson, I really like your optimism, not too sure about your sense of reality though. I'll offer you an olive branch, I don't believe it will happen with a young Canucks team, maybe with another team with Gretzky or Mario Lemieux, Connor McJesus etc.
Petterson had 54 points this past season while his mainstay wingers (debrusk and Kane) combined for 13 5v5 goal for the season. If his wingers could have drained half of the wide open nets Petterson set them up for, which seemed like a nightly occurrence, Petterson would have had likely 70-75+ points while still playing with anemic wingers all season. He’s had a rough couple of season, but so did the whole god damn team!
Id love to add shane wright added to the canucks rebuild. He has a lot of upside. And he doesnt have a high price tag contract wise. We have some good guys now in the room to help shape him into a better man and better player. Now, if its petey for shane, fine, but canucks should not be adding anything to that trade to make it happen. Petey has shown he CAN produce. Injuries, drama with the team, have all been a lot of noise. Other than scoring, petey has done everything else well. He gets the scoring going again, and now hes the full package. Crazy idea here, but id throw gallagher on his line. Kuzmenko scored a lot of goals from 2ft because of rebounds or petey faking his 1 timer. Gallagher loves the front of the net. I really think they could revive each other. But im just an arm chair gm like anyone else commenting, lol. No matter what happens. Im excited to watch the rebuild take place
Vancouver is going to value Ep40 as a 102pt player. Noone else is, 2+yrs into 2/3 of that. All of that is mute, pettersson is not waiving.
We have Cootes amd Malhotra. If we dont win the draft this year to get Dupont we get a center. It just isnt a fit.
