5. I question any analyst who ranks Evan Bouchard among the NHL's elite defensemen based solely on his offensive production. The conversation usually starts and ends with his points, power-play production, and shot. But when you evaluate the complete role of a defenseman defensive zone coverage, gap control, decision-making, and consistency, his game is far more debatable. He has improved over the past couple of seasons, but he still has costly defensive lapses, can be caught out of position, and there are stretches where his skating urgency and defensive awareness are noticeable weaknesses. Elite offensive defenseman? Absolutely. Complete, elite all around defenseman? I'm not convinced.

6. Nope not a coach issue it's a roster issue. 1 top NHL forward line, below average D and shitty goaltending does not make a cup winner. Yes Edmonton made 2 consecutive cup finals last 3 years but couldn't get it done despite there best chance 3 years ago when they lost in game 7 by 1 goal then got eleminated in 6 2 years ago. A more solid roster would of most likely won both cups.

7. A GM and a coach who have both been kicked out of the league. Should work out great! Not for fans of the Oilers though.
