  1. What do the recent changes in the Bruins front office mean for player development?

Well, no NHL GM has done worse at drafting & developing than Don Sweeney has since 2015

So hopefully these front office changes signal that the Bruins will actually start developing NHL players from their system & stop relying so much on trading for reclamation projects & making catastrophic UFA decisions like Elias Lindholm to build their roster

The PRIMARY reason the Bruins lack many young, talented cost controlled players is 100% Don Sweeney's terrible job at drafting & developing particularly from 2018-2023

Over those 6 drafts Don Sweeney drafted 32 players

Only 3 forwards played played more than 3 NHL games

Lauko-4th line turd & throwaway Sweeney threw away twice, who now plays in Europe

Beecher- 4th line turd & throwaway that Sweeney placed on waivers who'll also be in the AHL this upcoming season

Matt Poitras- A small, weak, not naturally gifted offensively player that has been banished to the AHL for two years

At defense only 3rd pairing, defensively challenged Mason Lohrei has played more than 50 NHL games & they were benching him recently in the playoffs for turds in Peeke, Jokiharju & Jordan Harris

So the return on those 32 draft picks from 2018-2023 today is… Drum Roll…

    Mason fn Lohrei, that's it

Don Sweeney has made 72 total draft picks since 2015 & only 8 have played 100 NHL games for Boston

    Debrusk: Gone, drafted 2015

    Carlo: Gone, drafted 2015

Frederic: 4th line turd, gone, drafted 2016

    McAvoy: drafted 2016

    Swayman: Drafted 2017

Lauko: 4th line turd, gone, drafted 2018

Beecher: 4th line turd, gone, drafted 2019

Lohrei: Defensively challenged 3rd pair guy, drafted 2020

Since 2003, 30% of NHL draft picks have played at least 100 NHL games

    Don Sweeney: 8 for 72 or 11%

If you add the 4 players that played 100 NHL games for other teams (Lauzon (2015) Vladr (2015), Lindgren (2016) Vaak (2018)

    That'd still only be 12 for 72 or 16%

The only Don Sweeny draft pick drafted 2018-2025 to play more than 3 NHL games for Boston in the 2025-26 season?

    ONE FN player, Mason Lohrei

The only Top 6ish forward Don Sweeney has ever drafted is Jake Debrusk and he was drafted 11 frigging years ago

The only two forwards drafted by Don Sweeney to play 100 NHL games since 2018?

Again, two turds who aren't with Boston any longer, Lauko & Beecher

Thus again, let's all pray these recent changes to the Bruins front office have a positive impact moving forward in terms of the Bruins actually developing their draft picks into NHL players because they've been absolutely dreadful at at since Don Sweeney took the GM job back in 2015

Their Farm System was bottom 5 ranked 2015-2024 because of Don Sweeney's failures

It's still a bottom 10 Farm System today becuase of Don Sweeney's failures as it only houses 3 real, sure fire NHLers in Hagans, Leterneau and Zellers today

Their next three higher rated prospects aren't locks to make the NHL & their NHL timeliness are all unknowns today in Will Moore, Liam Pettersson and Cooper Simpson

Once you get beyond those 6 prospects, outside of 2nd rounder Yuri Ivanov (a 5-7 years away Russian project goalie) every last one of the Bruins current prospects is a 3rd-7th round, developmental, long shot to play 100 NHL games draft pick

And before Bruins homers pencil Don Sweeney's current crop of 3rd-7th rounders into the NHL…

Don Sweeney has drafted 30, 3rd-7th round forwards

1 of the 30 played 100 NHL games: 4th line turd, Jacob Lauko

Don Sweeney has drafted 16, 3rd-7th defensemen

Only 1 of the 30 has even played a single NHL shift, Frederic Brunet, ONE lousy NHL game

So again, all Bruins fans better pray their recent front offices changes alter the course of their drafting & player development for the better because again, no GM and NHL team has done a more putrid job of drafting and developing than Don Sweeney and the Boston Bruins since Sweeney took the GMs job 11 years ago

And if the Bruins don't get exponentially better at drafting & developing they will never be a long term Stanley Cup threat again

Don Sweeney had his chance to grift of the Hall off of the Hall of Fame core he inherited and he won nothing with it in Bergeron Chara Pasta Marchand Rask Krejci Krug Lucic and Hamilton

He won nothing because he failed to add to that gifted hall of fame core & now he actually has to do his job and build a Bruins Cup contender made up of of his OWN players

Thus far his efforts to do so…

    #terrible

Evan, despite your love and allegiance to Don Sweeney here are his results as GM

    Bottom 5 Farm System 2015-2024

    Bottom 10 Farm System today

9 of 10 years failed to win more than 1 playoff round

More Playoff DNQs as GM (2) than 2nd round series wins wins (1)

5th-7th worst roster in their own division today

Inherited the greatest core of talent any NHL GM has in the history of of the league in

Bergeron Chara Pasta Marchand Rask Krejci Krug Lucic and Hamilton

And all he did with that hall of fame core is win a bunch of meaningless regular seasons games off their backs

    What an incredible NHL GM😂😂😂😂😂

    No playoff winning

Rotten farm system due to his lousy drafting & developing

Roster is bottoming out now that his gifted hall of fame core has been whitled down to just David Pastrnak (their best player and of course not a Don Sweeney acquired player)😂😂

What would Boston ever do without the great Don Sweeney at the helm 😂😂😂

    Good grief Evan

    Good Grief😂😂😂😂
