I think the Ducks' medium term plan has to be, pay Gauthier, trade him in the next few seasons and hope Klepov, Sennecke and McQueen better than replace Gauthier's production.
I'll again say, matching the offer sheet was the wrong decision. But, now that it has been matched, you have to figure out how to fix the budget to adjust for it.

They got klepov in the McTavish trade and, arguably could be better than him. We’ll see how McTavish does in St. Louis but I honestly really like this move. This guy could be an absolute stud for the ducks. Especially if he can make it out of camp.
