And yes he’s gonna be older, but I think he has 2 solid seasons left in him. And not only would you be paying for him, but you’d also be paying to move on from Reilly and his contract. Assuming they put Domi on LTIR, trade Rielly along with picks and prospects… I believe they still would just be over the cap by like half a mil, so Nashville would need to retain a bit of his salary. But a top 4 of McCabe/Raddysh Josi/Tanev would be really good

13. This is always the problem you don’t trade your young studs for a guy knocking on retirements door. Durp. & Don’t give me sh!t about he has a lot of gas in the tank none of that even matters say it were true. You have no idea how good your own guys will get and you don’t build a real team by constantly trading out your young prospects for aging players. They’ve only rinsed and repeated that embarrassing formula for 10 years now, what do they have to show? Reilly had an unreal playoffs one year, Mitch think first year with babs still here by far our best player was throwing hits I remember I know so babs got the most out of him. Bullying works folks haha. .. Nylander has his moments where he comes through although lazy asf and I think also a net drain on the team / definitely on the culture.

14. Roman makes $9M which is a nonstarter for Toronto unless NSH retains $2M. The Leafs are also a couple of million over the Salary Cap. So maybe a Lorentz goes with Rielly.
    Josi ($2M retained)
    for Rielly, Lorentz and COL 2027 1st. This would leave the Leafs down their 2nd or 3rd best point producing d-man with no cap space to replace that spot on the d-core. The likelihood of such a trade occurring would be 20% unless Toronto is Tradibg a Matthews Knoes for a stud D-man.
