I grew up in NYC watching Lundqvist at the garden, always liked him more than the franchise itself. Moved to the Chicago suburbs in 2017 and started following the hawks a few years later. I only went to a game or two that Kane played in before he left. I got way more into hockey in 2023 when I started college, and I’m overjoyed that I’ll get to watch showtime again. Might have to find myself at some away games out west 🙂

Conflicted. The Hawks need help and it appears very few if any quality players are interested in joing a rebuild, so their hands were somewhat tied. This has a PR move feel to it and at $8M per, it seems like they could have found a better fit (agewise) but the attraction to the team seems minimal. I guess you hope it works out and in two years you move on and let him retire as a Hawk. Revisiting a bygone era usually never works out.
KD needs to get 2 guys out of retirement. Toews and Foley. Hell even ad Enzo into the mix

Trade for DeBrincat; We ship them a 2027 1st-round pick + a 2nd to bring the Cat back home and lock him into a long-term extension., Trade for Lawson Crouse; Send a
2nd-round pick to grab a 6'4" heavy power forward to protect the rookies. Davidson has the draft picks to buy the trades and the cap space to pay the contracts. It bridges the gap perfectly until Bedard is healthy, and then they are an instant Stanley Cup contender. IF THEY PULL THAT OFF THEYRE IN THE DISCUSSION TO BE CONTENDERS!!! GO HAWKS GO!!!
