Why not go for Jarred Macann instead
The canucks have nowhere to go but up. Still, Wright has had a chip on his should since being bypassed by MTL in the draft and the Kraken have not done him any favors. (then again, I don't expect much from Botterill… hated him in Buffalo and see he's not changed much).. Picking him up could be a good move.. but he should not get top return. He's clearly not lived up to the draft hype. How much of that is on Wright and how much on Seattle remains to be seen.
Anaheim?
No โ heโs overrated!
I would not be opposed to going for Wright… But not if it costs anything lol
Rossi has more value, and with the players Canucks have coming, they don't need a #2 C
And Wright is not a #1 C
Of Philip Chityl I wish nothing but good health… But I don't even consider him part of the team
๐๐๐๐ poverty franchises trading failed prospect
What about EP40 for Wright and Seattle first? I would prefer 2027 1st, but would take a future year.
Not sure if Rossi is going to mesh, but he is closer in age. We could use a young center thoughโฆ Perhaps Rossi is worth it to give Wright a try.
this just in-connor mcdavid rumoured to go to the cannucks
If the Canucks take on Kotkaniemi, you know Canucks will get him not only for free, but also get a 2nd or 3rd round pick (or equal prospect) for free in return. That's because the Cane has clearly given up on him, they just want his contract and cap hit gone.
That is not the case with Shane Wright. The Krakens will still treat him as a good prospect and want an arm and a leg for him. This is the kind of players that teams overpay to boost their playoff run, not a player for a rebuilding team like the Canucks. It won't be a good deal, so Canucks should avoid.
Wright seems to have an attitude problem which we just got rid of in Vancouver. I'd say we don't bother
Run away from this as fast as you can.
I always felt that Wright was going to be a good player, but that Seattle botched his development. The Canucks are in the stage where they could absolutely take a gamble on a guy with upside as long as the price isnโt too steep.
I would prefer keeping him..unless it a knock your sock off trade…. disappointing but still best forward
