The Sharks are set to open the regular season at home against the Florida Panthers. With this matchup comes a golden opportunity for Darnell Nurse and Jacob Trouba. Additionally, an open spot on the top power play unit could be a breakthrough for young players like Luca Cagnoni and Sam Dickinson

  1. I think we have:
    (L) Dickinson (R) Trouba
    (L) Nurse (R) Kesselring
    (L) Orlov (R) One of Cagnoni/Pohlkamp

In the case of Dickinson & Kesselring, they can both move the puck.
In the case of Nurse & Trouba, they both have issues moving the puck.
That gets us two guys who are solid stay-at-home defense and two guys who have offensive upside.

I mean going two stay-at-home defense who both have difficulties moving the puck.
And another pair that are both offensive players who aren't yet solid on defense.
    That doesn't make sense.
But one of each on each pair does.

  2. I think there's a 50/50 chance that Dickinson starts in the AHL next year to get reps as a top line DMan and PP1 time. He needs more seasoning. Pohlkamp is a lock to start with the Sharks as long as he's healthy.
