Arber can do it. He has proven it in the past. Perhaps this new coach could be the solution to help Arber get over the hump. Thanks Kevin
Well said Jesse, Morgan Frost is not the player we should be going out of our way to acquire. Let Zharovsky/Hage/Kapanen grow into that top 6 role while remaining on the lookout for a better deal or opportunity to place a 1st line caliber player on our second line with Demidov.
(Morgan Frost is not that player).
Sean Monahan came from Winnipeg not Calgary!!!
I like Frost and Whitecloud for the Habs, always depends on what cost .
I’m with Josh , Frost has skill and you put Demidov and Newhook , and you’re telling me good Faceoff capability
Depending on the cost. Frost would be a very good add. He would have made the team better in the playoffs. He would add an element of certainty to the top 6. And provide stability until Hage is prepared to challenge him for 2C. Smart add considering Kapanen is not a top 6 player or a center. Frost has been playing in Philly and Calgary dumpster fires. He is older but a much better top 6 center option.
Leave arbor outta this shit
Montreal needs Arber. Each and every team in the NHL would love to have Arber, except maybe be MSL. May be MSL needs to go before the team wins a cup. He has been put on a pedestal by the Montreal media together with Carrier and Matheson. To me, if a coach after losing 3 games in a row, put the same players and the same line up (while he has half a dozen players in the press box) and expecting a different result is either extremely stubborn, stupid or totally naive. Only time will tell since you can’t bring him down from his high horse.
Having a 6’4” defenseman at home and not even giving him a chance to show what he can do and searching the market for a SIMILAR one is utter stupidity. Let’s talk about 2nd line Center. What is wrong with 6’2” Swede, scored 20 goals in a rookie season.
Florian, Arber, Beck and Engstron should be the in the line up this season.
Reduce play time and games of Matheson, Denault, Carrier and Evan’s, to bring these guys along by playing them minimum 15 – 18 minutes/game and in all conditions when they are in the lineup, and watch this team after 50 games, it will be a power house team where opponents will be scare a play a dirty game, if this mean MSL has to go, then let it be! You can not stop promoting within to keep young kids moral high.
Don’t tell me I’m the only one who sees it.
No, things are the same, nothing new going on
Frost<kapanen
Frost had a lot of his points on the the power play.. and he obviously wouldn't play PP1 in Montreal. He's not playing on the pk.
Points/60 minutes at 5v5…
Newhook: 2.43
Suzuki: 2.24
Kapanen: 1.99
Dach: 1.77
Evans: 1.27
Danault: 0.92
…
Frost: 1.51
Thanks… but no thanks
Here's my hot take. Kapenen is not an NHL centre. The amount of cognitive dissonance and hand wringing over a player who was deservedly scratched for most of the playoffs, and a 6th D who wouldn't even be playing on most teams in the league, remains impressive.
"But he was a rookie and will therefore only get exponentially better." I'd love for that to be true for Ollie but I'm not seeing it.
Habs fans are in love with all of our young players and don't want to trade any, to the detriment of acquiring actual good players now.
That being said, Frost is a UFA after this year, and we're not in the 1st + at the deadline for a rental phase of contention yet, so no dice.
Trading Xhekaj for Whitecloud would be like when Montreal traded PK Subban for Shea Weber. The fans hated the idea , but evental loved it when they saw what the Canadiens got in return with Weber. Whitecloud could be that modern day Shea Weber. As for Montreal acquiring Frost , Why ??? .
I would keep Kapanen as the team's 2nd line Center for next season. He and Demidov have 'chemistry' and make everyone that plays with them better.
Even Slafkovsky was a bit of 'stand in place and wait for the puck' player before being team'd with Kaps n Demido. Go HABs.
Whitecloud is unimpressive to me… Arber Xhekaj will be a much better player for the Canadians on many levels. It's up to the Canadians coaches to help improve Arber's areas which need improvement.
I've never disagreed with player moves before, but the possibility of losing Arber doesn't sit well with me. Sending players to the AHL and back isn't developing them. There has to be a coach that can work with these young players every ice time. I don't see proper development of AHl players to transition to the NHL either. It would be sad to lose Arber. He has the potential to be greater than he already is. the Habs need his muscle this season unless they can find a gem on D to replace him. Until they find the "wonder D" work with Arber, one on one if you have to, to get him where the Habs think he needs to be.
I don't think that Frost would be an improvement for the team.
apparently runtso awesome at developmental camp
We keep hearing about every team being interested in Arber. maybe there's a reason for that? You don't know what you got till it's gone.
At this point I would be shocked if the Habs made a trade
BIG mistake if they trade Xhekaj…he should be signed already…lifelong Hab!! 👊🏽💪🏽 Struble and Xhekaj make a good pair…they dominated playoffs…
why TF is Monty there…who's he blowing…
