There's precedent for striking out names of unwarranted individuals on the cup. It's happened before. Basil Pocklington's name was crossed out back in 1984.
It makes me wonder if putting so many superfluous names on it this time is a strategy to avoid the same outcome. Maybe the Dundons are counting on the Trustees to decide that almost two full lines of crossed out names is more of an indignity for the Cup than six names that didn't earn their way on.

the knights were up 2 to1 and could have scored the knockout blow in game 4 but came out flat and let the canes back into the series and never recovered , the knights blew the series MORE than the canes won it !
The NHL needs to replace that whole tier of the cup. Whatever the cost. The integrity and history of the league is paramount.
I can't believe the Dundons left Sparky (family dog) and Cottonball (family cat) off the Cup. The nerve!
Hey DK big fan! I live in Oregon and Dundon owns our only major sport franchise (mls doesn’t count) and he’s now trying to move the blazers out of the state. He’s a bad owner and he’s bad for sports. This guy showed his lack of class tarnishing Lord Stanley’s Cup with his turd of family’s names on TOP of the list of the TEAM. This guy sucks and it he doesn’t care.
If we’ve learned anything it’s that billionaires do whatever they want and hope us normies just forget about it. Never forget.
