Also Russ: "They shouldn't be leaving cap space the next 2 years to try and go out and aggressively get a 1C".
It's like complaining about what's going to happen. Even if you don't fully agree with how he did it, Danny is charting the only path to get out of this rebuild and into contention. There's uncertainty in that, because the Flyers will have to go out and acquire a 1C in the next 2-ish seasons for this to work. I would've preferred him locking these guys up longer term as well, but if they've calculated they need to save this money to have the funds available to pay McDavid than so be it. Do I think he'll come here, no. But if there's a 10% chance he does want to, shouldn't we be ready for that considering we don't have a 1C at all.
