“In a bay along the coast of Florida lived a hockey team with a big story, a big schedule, and a handsome Big Cat. They were the Tampa Bay Lightning. And together, they would go on an exciting journey through the NHL.

The journey begins on opening night in New York City, as the Lightning play the Rangers at Taylor Swift’s wedding church, before returning home to Tampa to play the Capitals, where Ovi is back again. In November, as the leaves begin to fall and the weather stays hot, the Lightning host a six-game homestand, including the defending Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricanes. But you know what they say, the holidays are all about revenge, and so the Lightning will set off for Montreal to take on the Canadiens to start December.

And then on to the Florida Panthers the day after Christmas, because everybody knows Santa doesn’t go to Sunrise. In the new year, the Bolts’ resolution will be to travel more. So they planned west coast and east coast road trips in the same month. Hopefully the weather will be nice in Edmonton. February is for lovers of Benchmark International Arena, with 7 home games after the All-Star break alone. Come March, they’ll be ready to head to sunny California to take on the Kings, Ducks and Celebrinis before flying to Chicago. The Bolts will have to pack their entire closet for a trip.

Finally, the Lightning finish the regular season with a home game against Boston for Fan Appreciation Night, when the Big Cat will get to see his old friend, Jeremy. And so the stage was set for another epic season in Tampa Bay.
