4. Larkin only wants to play with is team USA buddies who are on contenders. If he just wanted to be with his buddies he would go play with his best friend Werenksi in Columbus. If he just wanted to compete, Carolina, Dallas, etc like you mentioned. That's what makes this even worse.

   As far as I am concerned he is the biggest embarrassment to the Red Wings organization ever, if not all Detroit sports. Even his other USA buddies went about this in a much more professional manner. I think what he was looking for had the intended affect and now things will go back to business as usual come next season.

23. Brady only gave three teams to Ottawa when he wanted out, and the list was really just one team. Their GM got him moved with only one team really in the mix. This seems like spite from Yzerman. Imagine how he will look from the perspective of other players in the league if he doesn't get this done with one of the three on his list. Of course, Yzerman is setting it up to be like, "I tried my best but my unrealistic asking price just wasn't met." Imagine how bad the relationship between Yzerman and Larkin is for him to ask to be traded. I don't blame him for not expanding his list. Offer sheet a new GM is the best idea I've heard yet!

Dude was my favorite player, then after winning Olympic gold he acts like an insane person partying with horrible US government folks, and now the trade request. 25. This is why you allow your young players to burn a year of their ELC. They then become 10.2.C RFAs and cannot be offer sheeted or qualify for arbitration. It’s how Montreal has the great contracts they do. Fans/media/some GMs are so against burning an ELC year but that’s very short-sighted

33. How is yzerman not taking advantage of the Anaheim situation? Cutter Gauthier should be available in theory, with the limited salary the Ducks have available. Larkin for Gauthier straight up. They have space to match Leo Carlsson, and get a top 6 center in Larkin.

35. Larkin's chance of going to any of the teams on his list is about as good as a snowball's chance in . . . . Vegas is currently $8.6 mil over the cap and, even with Pietranglo's contract going on LTIR they will only have $200k in head room. Minnesota has only $1.2 mil of cap currently and Florida only has $1.22 mil. Now before you say the trade could create space, look at their current rosters and find someone they'd be willing to give up to cover Larkin's $8.7 mil cap hit. It just ain't happening. These teams are all contenders who aren't going to mess with their chemistry that much. Even if Stevie wanted to make a deal its fiscally impossible.

One of the better GM’s ever, Jim Develano, said it would take eight years to win a cup upon his hiring. You signed a contract when in reality you were probably already unsure of your future and now you decide to get into a pissing match with the GM.

    Whatever happens, Yzerman has two legacies in Detroit. One as a GM, which is admittedly a mixed bag and one as a player. What do you leave behind Dylan?
