Drury lowballed Schneider on his last contract, so he didn't give the Rangers a break this time around. This is what happens, when a GM who runs a team, in which the players/fanbase can't stand happens. No player is going to take a discount to play under a team, Drury is the GM. Until he's gone and certain personal changes are made. Players are going to avoid the Rangers like the plaque, not that I can blame them at this moment.
Only 1 year? Looks like Schneider feels that the team is not committed to him. He's likely not willing to be lowballed by Drury.

This smells. Schieder was on the block already. Drury probably hates him more than before and will ship him at the deadline if not before, bring in a vet cause his job is labeled playoffs or fired.🏒
Can't believe Schneider got over a 3 million $$ raise based on his play last season. Hopefully the 1 year means he'll be moved soon. Schneider 'plateaued' the Presidents Trophy season & his play has regressed every season since.
