2. 23:14 Not sure this was fully thought through, Conor. Sure adding Peterka and Tippett to the top-six is good, but remember, to make that happen, Boston is subtracting Zacha and Arvidsson from its (previous) top-six.

   Granted, Peterka (24) and Tippett (27) are younger than Zacha (29) and Arvidsson (33). That shouldn’t be ignored. Nonetheless, I’d estimate that Peterka/Tippett score (combined) 50-60 goals next season, which is also a reasonable estimate for Zacha/Arvidsson (combined).

   So, I do not think a trade with Philadelphia makes the Bruins better, but it does make them younger.

3. Should the Bruins trade Pavel Zacha?

   The Bruins are not Cup competitive today and handing out $8M-$10M a year to see Pavel Zacha get worse into his mid to late 30s would have the potential to turn his next contract into their next Elias Lindholm level disaster

   I. E. saddling themselves with an aged, declining vet making too much money, with too much term, that they can't move

   Zacha is also streaky (see the fact that he only scored 14 goals in 2024-25) he's soft, he's slowed down considerably skating wise & his defense has dipped as well

   Despite having a career regular season this past year Zacha's 5×5 play driving & possession numbers also stunk last season

   And then there are these two things to strongly consider:

   ONE: Pavel Zacha has been a playoff ZERO his entire career

   33 career playoff games
   1 lousy 5×5 goal
   2 lousy goals total
   -5
   Crap 47% FO%

   How was Zacha this past post season vs Buffalo after his career regular season?

   He was the EXACT same invisible ghost he's been in every post season he's ever played in

   Two: The Bruins have limited assets to trade in bigger deals and trading Zacha would represent their best chance at obtaining a high end player that could help them in years to come, especially in two to three years when they should be Cup competitive again

   Not only would trading Zacha see the Bruins get quality assets in return for him

   Not tying themselves to Zacha's next, sure to be terrible contract, would free up the kind of Cap Space that would help them obtain a true, younger, more skilled, impact player via trade or via free agency should they become available and they always do every trade deadline and or off season

   The arguments for keeping and re-signing Pavel Zacha?

   You're okay with the Bruins losing in the 1st round for another 5+ years

   You're okay with his being an indivisible playoff ghost at $8M-$10M per year

   You think a playoff nothing in Zacha is worth investing $8M-$10M in for the next 5-8 years with the very real possibility his play falls off a cliff in a few seasons & his contract becomes their next Elias Lindholm level albatross

   Based on all of that, it sure seems like trading Pavel Zacha makes the most sense

   What do I expect to happen?

   Don Sweeney will re-sign Pavel Zacha to a 5-8 year deal with a full NTC at an AAV of $8M-$10M & that'll likely be one of Don Sweeney's last bad, if not his final, bad UFA contract before he finally gets deservedly fired

4. Doesn't Tippet have the reputation of being an extremely streaky player? Been down the Jake Debrusk road. At this point I don't move Zacha for anything other than a younger, true top 4 right shot defensemen.

5. I think Zacha has more value because of his special teams play and he can play LW.

6. I think trading Zacha is a mistake. You will never get back a player of equal or greater value for someone with 1 year left on his contract. If you're trading him for picks and prospects, then that doesn't help the team now, and management already said they want to win now.

8. Depends on what’s coming back , younger centre with potential and a top end prospect . Seriously I’m good with that if they could get a 1st or 2nd rounder to go along with it . I’m just don’t think he’s capable of a repeat scoring totals of last year . I like him but we need some younger talent . He’s likely looking for 8-10 million for 5or 6 years Minten going to be resigned hopefully this year then Hagens is already burnt through 1 year of the 3 year entry level contract .
