The Americans have little or no loyalty to their teams.
No guarantees fo getting traded.. but being only RFA can be problematic.. 1, you have to hope the team trades you… which they don't have to.. 2. if they don't trade you, you can try for an offersheet… EXCEPT: Columbus has plenty of cap space.. so they can match and again you're stuck.. or 3, you just sign until your' a UFA and become fully in control.

Marchenko would be a great fit in Montreal if they can pull this off. And really if Montreal pulls this off, after resolving the goaltending issues in Florida, are people really scared of the Panthers any more then before? They overall are weaker in goal, the additon of Brady up front is more a threat on paper then in reality, he just makes an already big forward core slower, their addions on the back end don't create an intimidation factor talent wise so far. At most the threat Florida poses might be less then before considering the downgrade in goal.
