The Montreal Canadiens have reportedly shown interest in Anthony Mantha, but how legitimate is the rumour? In this video, we break down Marc-Olivier Beaudoin’s report, explain why the chances of a deal appear slim, and evaluate whether Mantha actually makes sense for the Canadiens. From his elite finishing ability and imposing size to his lengthy injury history and contract expectations, we weigh the pros and cons of bringing the veteran winger home to Montreal.

  1. Simple, if Mantha makes it to Mtl, use Dach parts to mend him…and some more extra strength band aids. Then put him on a line with J Anderson and Glub Poochikov

  2. The wait for Kent and Jeff to pull that polka dot rabbit out of the hat goes on. Thus…..Goodnight everyone. Wake me up if something happens, please.
    😊😊❤❤😊😊

  3. If he's cheap, sure. It's good to have the depth. With Gallagher gone, they could use someone who goes hard to the net. The size should help too.

  4. You are the best out there man. Stop wondering why your subs count is going up. I follow you for probably close to 2 years. Very religiously for well over a year for sure. Even talked to you to invite you to a game once. Keep up your great work, buddy

  5. I'd rather us keep the trend, go younger and build from within, Unless we are bringing in someone in the 23-27 range that's willing to take team friendly deals like the rest of the boys.

  6. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Is this finally the Mantha we were promised? I would hold firm on a 2 year max term, and would overpay slightly to get that signed on those terms, like 6 mil x 2. Let Hughes cook, he'll know what's best

  7. If anything I don't think that's a move to made in the summer. Dach seems to finally be pretty healthy so best to evaluate him one very last time at camp and through the first games of the season. You could tell along the playoffs he was getting gased and could not sustain the same level of his first games where he showed more than a few flashes of brilliance and some real good efficiency. It happens pretty often when an athlete has to kinda rush to get back from injury, makes tremendous progress on the injured part(s) & adds good consolidation workouts for the whole body to prevent the injury from occuring again but does not get the time to fully refill/refurbish the endurance tank. That can only be done properly in the offseason going through a very well laid out program over the span of several weeks without any interuption.

  8. Thats a bet i would take mantha has size and uses it more.than Dach i feel. I wouldnt be surprise if he takes a hometown discount as well but i dont see him as a top 6 long term

He can definitly slot in a top 6 from times to times but he is a bonified 3rd liner who has got one really good season.

I hope he sign for 1 year and prove me wrong but i doubt it

  9. A 1 year contract at a reasonable price for Mantha? Of course I'd do it. Guy's injury prone, but when available he's physical, decent skater, can shoot. Having him as a 3rd line piece would be fantastic while we wait for Zharovsky and Hage to come up.

  10. Mantha is a good, big player and he certainly could be a temporary solution until Hage and Zharovsky are ready. Yet, he's 32: you don't sign a player this age for ten years! I feel a two or three years contract is the most the Habs can offer him.

  11. I really wanted the Canadiens to draft Mantha. But at this time of his career he is a short term fix for our need for a power forward.
Gee I must be missing something. It seems to me a 33 goal scoring power forward should be able to play on the 2nd line. Canadiens' fans. me included, are hyped about Knies, who scored 23. I know the age difference and durability are the big differentiators but for a year or two, Mantha does seem like a decent placeholder.
The Habs have given Dach 4 years to prove himself. Why are they still hoping?

  12. Pros with Mantha:

    – Size in our top 6
    – Clear upgrade for the second line
    – scored 30 last year
    – best friends with Larkin… could get us on the list 🎯🎯🎯
