The goalie coming back is just a contract. The goalie is to shed salary upgrade the D and get a draft pick. They had a glut of goalies and weren't going to carry 3 goalies.

Pretty weak analysis. The trade is pretty much Woll for Andrae and a 3rd. Benoit is a cap dump and Ersson might not get tendered. Toronto has 3 NHL capable goalies and didn’t want to lose someone to waivers for nothing next season, so sold while there was a market valuing a goalie.. in September the price would have been a lot lower for selling a goalie

Brind Amour ensures that duriing each season his team shows improvement in preparation for play-off hockey, thiis is not rocket science, player's that do not improve are apparent, championship hockey (eg. the Marlies) play play-off hockey during the season in preparation for the Stanley Cup Finals, now the Leafs have a coach, therefore, it is tiime to train for play-off hockey
It is because no one wants a fragile Stolarz. But we have 3 goalies who would have to clear waivers. You guys obviously know nothing. The goalie we got doesn't have to clear waivers to be sent down. The Marlies have 3 solid goalies.

Yes this was a good trade , Woll had a chance to own the net , but his injury riddled career chose differently. If the Leafs aren’t happy with Stolarz trade him for a pick , future considerations anything. Then go after Hellybuyck . At least Helly can take the load of games if needed
These guys are grading the trade by using feelings not facts. Woll wasn't going to beat Hildeby in camp anyway. Ersson is just a dump or heading to Marlies. Even though I liked Benoit, Andrae is going to be the better d-man so this is a good trade.

The hot rumor now is the Leafs are in on Bobrowsky. He and Stolarz won a Cup a couple of seasons ago. Hildeby and the Russian kid play in the AHL. Errson maybe goes to Pittsburgh for a pick. Woll almost went to Pittsburgh at the trade deadline for a pick. Look for Carlo to be moved to Colorado.
