  1. I'm slightly disappointed, but not mad.
We all knew the Ducks were gonna match.
Brodes actually thought the Flyers were gonna get Leo Carlsson?
AT MOST it was a 5% chance of that happening.
If anything the offer sheet was for the rest of the league to give the Flyers pause and think.."Hey, maybe….."

    I ain't mad.

  2. The worst part of all this is the Flyers did nothing to make the Powerplay any better, so we live with another season of a crap Powerplay? All these FA and RFA and we ended up either a bottom 4 winger and a backup goalie. I know DB tried but he also cost the team money because Zegras and Drysdale demands will increase. The Flyers increased the salary structure of the NHL for good to great players.

  3. 94 WIP HOME OF NEGATIVE SPORTS RADIO. ENOUGH WITH THE NEGATIVITY! All you people do is talk negative to create friction and then later say I told you so… The flyers were trying to do something to get better. IMO 18 million for a 10-12m player is a overpay and that is where the NHL is at in this current climate. There are no good star free agents to help your roster. So you have force teams to match offer sheets. To get real good players you have to swing for the fences to get them anymore? Briere did the league a favor.. And the flyers were the only organization with balls to do something about the broken UFA/RFA system. Its not the end of the world. This team has enough young talent to make the Carlsson thing a after thought. The Flyers are committed to getting better and that should be enough for the fanbase.

  4. Interesting interview. A hockey Hall of Famer who knows the game as good as anybody I know trying to explain to somebody that says he knows hockey about hockey. To be critical of the Flyers attempt to get Carlson is basically embarrassing to you and WIP. The host goes on a rant saying the trying is not enough that we need a superstar. Does he not think for a second that the Flyers and and their staff are trying every minute of the day to get the best possible people here in Philadelphia? Get out of the backseat and start to understand what’s going on around you before you take pot shots at the Philadelphia Flyers and their staff quite frankly it’s embarrassing.
