I'm a half season ticket holder, and there's nothing I want more than for 71 to suit up for the Wings opening night and get absolutely destroyed by the fans. I can't wait
I think both parties involved in this dispute are being childish. I'm really not a fan of either side. I think Y has made of mess of this franchise. There are players that don't want to come to Detroit. Never a good sign.
Larkin isn't being realistic on where he wants to go. Childish.
MAZ !!!
I love Sean's Stevenson HS Hockey hat. ❤
He won’t be here come training camp. He’ll be traded by the end of the month
If I'm Larkin, I don't show up.
D-bag wants out so bad he better play his ass off at the start of the season. Make them overpay. Win/win for the Wings
With Maz on this one boys… there’s no way Larkin is suiting up for the team ever again.
I'm dying to see Larkin's first interview after this all resolved. He is going to be asked some really uncomfortable questions about being a quitter.
Dylan is playing Batman..: 'you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain'
Sean is just a SteveBot
Why do you think Larkin wants the C. If he plays opening night. He would turn turn down the Captains position. Even he has more common sense than that.
Steve is not letting him go for nothing. The way Larkin went about this. No. He plays by Steve's rules.
If they let him go for nothing. Then you all would B—h about that!
Why get so worked up over something someone might have said or might not have said 🤷♂️ you are all talking like yzerman is a complete moron
I think sean has some point with chris illitch. Dont wanna defend steve but maybe hes trying the best with what hes allowed to do just look at every other detroit franchise. Dont seem like they wanna pay the players
Ehh wrong, yzerman sucks at free agent moves, not the draft. Hes had 2 top 5 picks in 8 years, no luck in the lottery, and drafted 2 superstars in razor and seider. What the hell did holland do? Aside from Wyatt Johnston, who a lot of teams missed on and lane hutson, who every team but Montreal missed, hes gotten good assets. In fact it was 2 years ago that every media outlet including woodward was talking about how the wings had the best prospect pool. Im sorry but after pick 5 its a crap shoot and most likely your dealing with developmental players that may or may not pan out. And he used cossa, a guy who has proven nothing and will most likely be a bust to get his first round pick back this year. And yes larkin will be on the ice on opening night. He has to play to show value, not just for the wings to get something of value but also for himself. If he sits or yzerman sits him, there's no way any of the teams larkin wants to go to are gonna want him. You cant sit out for 3 months and jump into the fire of a playoff push, especially a player who has choked the last half of the season for 3 straight years. This is all on larkin. He didn't have to sign that 8 year contract, if he wasn't sure, but big baby dylan saw all his team usa friends going to better teams and said wah wah, I want that too, not fair. Can we just acknowledge the fact that as reported, yzerman stopped talking to larkin exactly around the time after he played in the four nations, completely tore his abductor that was already injured going into that tournament instead of resting for the second half of the season, and the wings ended up barely missing the playoffs. I said it before and I'll say it again for all the larkin lovers out there, he gets paid by the wings, not team usa, so to play in a meaningless all star break tournament instead of resting and recovering to make a playoff push is unprofessional, childish, and completely selfish, so stop making excuses for the baby.
Ken Holland built a dynasty, but his late-era obsession with keeping the playoff streak alive left Detroit with an aging roster, bad contracts, and a gutted pipeline. That’s the mess Yzerman walked into, and it’s exactly why the team can’t afford to make short-sighted moves now. Which brings us to Dylan Larkin.
Detroit has one legitimate top-six center. Even if Larkin is more of a high-end 2C, he’s still the 1C on this roster. He drives play, eats tough minutes, and keeps the lineup stable. Trading him right now with a limited trade list and a soft market guarantees a weak return. That’s bad asset management. The deadline always brings more bidders, more desperation, more cap creativity, and better returns for centers. A contender looking to push over the top will pay far more in February than anyone will pay in July. Hold Larkin until the deadline. That’s when you maximize the return. It could be messy but it has been.
People shouldn’t make it impossible for him to come back. Don’t let emotions F this up completely.
This guy is nuts if he thinks Larkin will have the C on his jersey.
The NHL today is compiled with a bunch of mediocre players making way too much money because there are not enough mediocre players to go around let alone elite players. All I can say is, I’m glad I had the 90s to live through.
What these genii fail to understand is the Tigers STILL haven’t won the World Serious, and may well be Illitch’s priority (even if it doesn’t look like it). Yzerman’s hands may be tied, spending-wise.
C. I. looks more to me like Bruce Norris, than Mike Illitch. Spoiled greedy/rich kid who is more worried about revenues than wins.
Do these guys KNOW Robertson was agreeable to signing with Detroit? If he wasn’t, how do you blame Yzerman.
