Lots of bozo canes fans on the app formerly known as twitter thinking that this conversation is people being salty that the canes won and it’s not. This is not directed to the fans or the staff and players who gave it their all to win this trophy this is directed exactly at the owner of the team and his need to put an ABSURD amount of his family members on the cup and leaving off a literal equipment manager who’s been there for like 30 years

Both Joel Nyström & Bobby Gorman missing is unacceptable & even with all his kids names, there were 2 empty slots left, so both of these chaps were purposely left off, which is even worse. As a Canes fan, this is just disgusting.

I have this other point of view. Owner is just showing a middle finger back at the hockey establishment. The NHL establishment is showing the finger to the Canes every day, so…… Like no hall of fame for Brindamour, absolute zero award nominations for the organization that has the best win % for the past 8 years, no selke, no best gm, no best coach, no nothing. And I am not talking the actual awards, the nominations are "zero" Basically they are saying "we pretend not to notice you despite your accomplishments, you do not exist in this league" So, you win and you flick it back at them pretty fair no?!

According to Forbes the Panthers owner did this in both 2024 and 2025 with both wife and kids included. Not that as a Hurricanes fan I excuse it, but at least we weren’t first and of course it was the Florida Panthers.

Dundon included his whole bloodline and they still didn’t even use all the name slots leaving people off.

Here is how the 'twist' works , so I have heard. If there is part ownership listed in their (meaning wife & sibblings) trust funds ,
then yes they do have part ownership in the club (regardless of how small it is) and it is legit. Otherwise NO , it is not allowed.
As for players mentioned [listed] , it use to be only the players that actual played in the playoffs that got their name on the cup ,
even if it was for just 2 minutes. Thank Bettman for these modern times changes.
The Dundons are a disgrace and I look forward to them being punished.
