The Leafs need to focus on getting more defense and a goalie.
We have more than enough offensive power.
We need to tough defensemen that can move the puck out of the zone and SAFELY up to the offense to do their thing.
And we need a reliable goalie.
Werenski would be a great addition and fills a need we really do have.
I would be able to live with Knies and some picks for Werenski.
Other than that though DO NOT trade Knies.
WE NEED GRIT ,JUST SIGNED RADDYSH ,MOVE ON DONT TRADE THE FARM.
I’m certain the leafs are going to sign some more questionable contracts during July 1st.

Opportunities like this dont come around often. Its worth it as long as Matthews and Werenski resign. Otherwise its not worth the risk of giving up guaranteed assets for a short term high.

I bet Werenski is already a done deal for Dallas. They're just ironing out the details right now. Chayka is not willing to give Knies + several other pieces (Danford + Cowan + a goalie + picks). That would be a huge overpay.
To say Robertson is worth 4 1st rnd picks is insane.
