  4. I think he cant afford to NOT use some of those extras in a Trade. Like if they add tverberg or joshua to a reilly deal and maybe a draft pick to try and get a better center, or another defensman.

    Best Puck-mover Dman = VIllenueve = broke Marlies DMan plaoff scoring record for single season ..
    Best Shutdown Dman = Webber
    Best Winger Prospect = Tverberg (Not Cowan)

I’m a later in life hockey fan in my 30s, thanks to my husband being a multi generational leafs lifer, and these past 2 years I’ve been a committed fan who finally understands some ins and outs of this dang sport! I really appreciate getting to hear your takes on all these changes, it feels like a remarkably exciting time to finally be on the leafs train and I’m grateful you spell it all out! Never would’ve guessed I’d be a hockey fan in this lifetime, let alone someone who watches every leafs game and even the playoffs without the leafs, gets excited for every video and podcast you post, and can actually sustain a conversation with the best of em!

  8. As a newer subscriber who knew NOTHING about hockey a year ago, next season gets more and more exciting for me.

    Even if the year ends up a disappointment (it’s the Leafs), I’d rather lament certain transactions than lament NO TRANSACTIONS AT ALL

  13. Villeneuve & Tverberg WILL be claimed I pray we give them roster spots, those two are absolute studs, Willy V could plug into the PP and because a guy part time leaf fans are saying “where the heck did this Villeneuve guy come from?!”

  14. IMO Leafs don't entertain trading Reilly (a top 4 Dman) without a plan to replace a top 4 Dman seeing that they are not rebuilding. I think Knies for Werenski is a potential scenario, only thing Blue Jackets are rumored interested in. Leafs free agency frenzy has made them forward heavy (potential replacement value). Larken who Leafs have had some rumored interest in, has been posting pictures with Werenski suggesting interest in playing with him. (Reilly for picks & cap space) (Cowan & picks for Larken), (Knies & picks for Werenski).

    2, Tavarez – Larken – Nylander – McCabe – Villeneuve

  15. I am very comfortable with the Leafs having a financial advantage over other teams and being able to hoard depth in the minors, while risking some of those players get claimed on waivers.

  19. WE NEED BO GROUX ON THIS TEAM. The fact the leafs literally never give any marlies a real shot hurts us as fans. Next thing you know, they end up in Boston thriving because our MGMT chases 31 year olds who never amount to anything. Give the marlies a shot, or someone else will

  22. Of course they won! They were one of the oldest team with the most experience! Reilly will be traded with an other asset so the other will take on his whole salary.
    Stop pumping up Marlies, their players are NHL bottom feeders.

  24. Joshua might be a little overpaid, but doesn't he fit exactly what the new management group has been trying to add? – Big guy, can skate, brings tenacity.

  27. A dman stays a prospect until after their 25 year old season is over. Any dman that breakouts out younger than that is likely going to be well above average to elite, and for gialies its age 27 because of how much decelopment is needed for their positions. Forwards lose prospect status at 22 or maybe 23.

  31. The Habs REALLY need a RD. You have a young FRENCH RD, and you're considering putting him on waivers!? Hahaha, ty vm says Kent Hughes. XD I'm not saying they're 100% going to take him, mainly because someone else will take him first, but I guarantee you the Habs scouting team has been looking into it.

Steve….I watched a few of your videos last year during the season, but bailed halfway through because I thought you were very animated & over the top…I have since watched your videos the day before draft day, and realized you bleed blue & white, as I do (yes, the Mighty Leafers have won a cup in my lifetime!)….so i am now a subscriber as of 13 days ago. You bring a different perspective, stats & the nuances they contain , and guaranteed a straight shooter – thank you!

  35. Villeneuve also LED ALL DEFENSEMEN in scoring during the AHL playoffs. Would love to see him up and Stetcher be the one exposed to waivers.

  38. They’re going to see who’s playing better out of preseason and hopefully they can trade them instead of put them through waivers like they did with lafferty

  41. Gruden, good. Reilly has to go, NOW. A D liability for years now…embarrassing to watch. HC – Hiller – We will see. he has never won a single playoff round in the NHL….we will see.

  45. The Leafs also left how many of their guys rotting in minors or brought them up to play 5 minutes on the 4th line? Huge mismanagement of their minor system for years and years.
