What about Nikishin and Kotkaniemi from Carolina. Apparently Tulski wants to attach Kotkaniemi to any deal for Nikishin. Both are young players, needing a change of scene, and positions of need for the Pens. Definite risk, with any reclamation project, but I think its worth it. Nikishin is a big, hard hitting, fleet footed LD wanting a bigger role and Kotkaniemi has 1st round pedigree and very high upside who was ruined in Carolina. Both are young. If Im Dubas, Im on the phone with Tulski to see what it takes.

If the Pens think their defense is all set for the upcoming season they are mad. Their D is right now even worse than it was last season. Last season they only had one good D line for much of the season and now they have zero proven good D lines since they got rid of Wotherspoon. They also had a solid 2nd line because Kulak was working just fine with Letang…what did they do? Got rid of Kulak and replaced him with Girard who didnt work well at all with Letang. They better round up a couple decent left handed D men. The Pens D line has been the big problem for the Pens for years now and they refuse to fix it
