  1. Stay calm. Canucks are OK. Team will be much better next year. Ilya Safarov is coming this year. Picks we have will turn Canucks around way faster than some guys think. Anthoni Martino and Cootes are
good young players. One trade can swing this team upwards. Demer will be back just watch. DeBrusk can bring us a young center we need. Safarov will be good 4 th line center. He is big strong guy -he can skate well.

  2. Pretend like you are a Expansion Team and just Start over… Trade, Trade and Trade some more… Whatever you did yesterday… Does work…

Hint~> Draft Canadian Talent from the WHL or OHL… Start with a Goalkeeper and Defenders…

  3. I’d say they should take the next 5 years and gather as many picks and prospers as possible. Aim for at least 10 picks a draft so you can stockpile each position.

Trade veterans away at each trade deadline and draft, squire free agents with short term deals so they can also be traded away but also lead and mentor the younger players.

I’d stay away from qualifying offers, 1. Because it doesn’t sound like many high end players want to come here right now anyways, but also because they need to save their money and cap space; having room for the players when they reach a competitive window.

In 5 years they should be trending up and be able to trade picks and prospects for the things they need from a position of strength instead of weakness like they’ve been consistently doing for the last 12 years.

  4. I agree, but when it comes to EP40 specifically, I'm not retaining salary. I don't care if the cap is going on. OEL is still on the books for that significant cap recapture penalty. What happens when salaries skyrocket and and they're coming out of the rebuild and need to keep guys they drafted?
