It's not strange there's no update. If Bedard is going to be fine in a few weeks, why would Davidson tell the hockey world that news? That will encourage other GMs to do an offer sheet. With NO information, this is less likely to happen.
Bedard was told so many times that he is the second coming, he now believes it. He wants to get paid as if he were what they said he would be, not what he is. This is all ego at this point, because the money Bedard can make selling everything from cars to pizza in Chicago goes way beyond most markets.
