Under a minute is wild. Sharks rebuild is looking good outside of that Nurse trade.
Who doesn't love Jacob Toruba!
Lol
Drafting that 7 foot guy in the 7th round is a GM Superbman move all the way
The future is absolutely teal, and will be for a while.
The Sharks rookie scrimmage was held at Tech CU Arena Home of the Barracuda. It holds 4200 people and it was full. Stenberg scored an amazing goal. Also the Sharks have 3 retained contracts that come off the books next Year which will more than pay Nurse’s contract
They have a ton of talent but whether they are building a dynasty or not will depend on how they handle their long term contract situation.
Can we break down the Red Wings free agency acquisitions………crickets..
Way too much hate for the Trouba and Nurse adds in my opinion. The Sharks only had 2 Dman signed going into the offseason and needed to improve it as they want to get their young core valuable playoff experience and see an opportunity in a weak Pacific division. They arguably added the top 2 D that were available to them at the cost of no assets and just cap space. In the end this is how the decided to weaponize their cap space that they have plenty of for the next 1-3 seasons. Year 4 of the contracts could become a problem but the way they structured the Trouba and Sherwood contracts for that final year, a buyout is fairly easy or even just trading them out is very manageable. Remember this team almost made the playoffs with a Dcore that had Klingberg and Nick Leddy who are both still unsigned UFAs. Grier is also thinking ahead as Trouba and Nurse provide veteran experience and makes the team much harder to play against and will help with Dickinson's development and when Verhoeff/Lin enter the league in 1-2 years they won't be thrown to wolves and will be on cheap ELCs that expire when Trouba and Nurse are off the books. The way I see it Grier wants the team to get playoff experience right now and by the time these contracts are off the books, that is when Grier thinks the Sharks will be truly ready to contend for the cup for several years and he will go all in then. Remember the majority of the young core are 21 years and younger…
Anything less than a cup within the next 5 years is a complete failure for the Sharks
Sharks did pretty well.
I wanted Marchment and Trouba in Toronto (but for much less than SJ signed them).
I think the Nurse trade is fkn stupid. Full stop.
I think the Karmanov kid will probably never play in the NHL, but he still skates better than me lol
I think the Sharks win a cup, but not before the end of Nurse's deal.
Love these guys for loving the Sharks. The signings make me nervous but I'm looking forward to the season!
Are they posting a pod today ?
The Sharks are a temu version of The Montreal Canadiens 😂
The sharks almost made the playoffs last season with their tire fire defense. I don’t think anyone can say that their defense isn’t significantly better this year.
Nurse has his flaws but he's a warrior and is a great athlete. He's also got a high compete level, I think he'll be a leader on the sharks team. Both teams did well in the trade
The Leo Carlsson drama is making the sharks situation very scary in terms of how many young guys they're gonna have to pay. Mack is gonna set a precedent regardless, and it's crucial as to whether Grier is in a Pat Verbeek or a Kent Hughes situation
The sharks have the money for these players yea. However, it doesnt mean you should spend it on bad defenseman. Their blueline is trouba, nurse, cagnoni, haevlid, dickinson and orlov. That is a bottom 5 blueline in the league with extremely limited puck movement.
