7. The narrative that Danny Briere screwed us is totally bogus. Verbeek and Leo Carlsson share equal fault as the people screwing the Ducks over. Verbeek should have given Leo his first ask on July 1st along with Gauthier. Also, Leo has now shown definitively that he is one of those players for whom getting paid is priority number one, not winning.

   I Hope Leo is ready to have every mistake he makes on and off the ice scrutinized moving forward. This is the price you pay for putting your own financial wellbeing over everything else.

8. The Ducks do have good young players waiting in the wings that can play at the NHL level. Verbeek may have to make some moves and shed some draft capitol to entice teams to take one or two vets such as Killorn and Vatrano. 23. As one of the dozens of Ducks fans, Jesse, you really made me feel better about the situation. Verbeek got a stupid prize after playing a stupid game, now he needs to swallow the pill and salvage the situation. It’s possible, but what a ridiculous situation that Verbeek could have avoided.
