I'm pleasantly surprised at how well the Canucks did today. I wasn't surprised that there was no noise until today. RJ is a new GM and he needs to get his feet wet with the job. I'm pretty sure he wasn't handling any trades involving players who got sent to Abby, so this will be a new challenge for him. So far, so good. I know fans in Vancouver want to go full xenophobic with this rebuild, but you can only make the trades available to you.
So far… I don’t like the Hoglander deal… but everything else has been good to great. I’m liking it
A first rounder; conditional, in 2030, is about the best you're gonna get. But at least M Pettersson is gone. He was just so underwhelming
Things to look forward to:
1) D Petey paired with schenn/oleksiak and playing with "stiffness"
2) Abby being good again
3) the local sports media not constantly being ahead of the canucks front office releasing information 😂
4) watching RJ methodically ticking boxes…

If you trade Debrusk who is playing on the first line with EP40? If the goal is to rehab Pettersson’s production to trade for futures, you cannot have him playing with Drew O’Connor every night.
