On the topic of trophies… we could, alternatively, just start handing out the trophies the way they should be awarded. Make the the Norris for defensemen, not blue line forwards with the most points. And the Selke for actual defensive forwards, not the power forward with (again) the most points. Its like people dont realize that there is more to winning a hockey game than scoring points. Scoring might be a big part of it, yes. But stopping your opponent from scoring, and generating scoring chances off of your check is also a massive part of the game. And im absolutely pissed year-in and year-out when guys like Slavin or Forsling and Jordan Staal arent considered for awards that they should be considered for every single year
