  1. Loved Stecher. Had some impressive early performances, but ultimately fell off because he was being asked to do too much. Perfectly capable as a depth option.

  2. Woah….Everyone was on board the Berube train. I called it from day 1.

Been a fan a very long time, VERY!! Seen alot of bad times, good times and here we are. There are sooo many things up in the air and MUST go right just like last year to make the dance….but thats been the problem…just enough to get to the dance.
Retooling on the fly…may appease Matthews for a year or 2.

    Need a #1 or #2 D

Rielly.cannot be on the 1st pairing. Enough already.

Which Matthews is going to show up? The 45+ goals or the 52pts @13.25mil

    Can the old.D remain healthy?

Are we seriously going Stolarz 1A?

Who is the #2 center? Dont say Tavares

  3. Just let Maccelli walk. The dude doesn't help the culture this team has been trying to get rid of for years. His production doesn't exactly match what he wants to get paid either.

  4. Nobody, absolutely Nobody looked good under Berube as a coach you just have to look at what happened to Mcmann and everyone else who moved and all of a sudden got better!

  5. @SteveDangle Feels like this will be a long summer. Doubtful that a Werenski deal gets done – at least directly between the Leafs and Columbus as I think Toronto really doesn't want to part with Knies. Though with Dallas up against the cap, maybe they can be a good third party to go through. Curious of your thoughts on a trade like this (or if you think any trade is possible between these teams, what would you do to in adding players or picks to a trade like this?):

    To Toronto: Werenski
To Dallas: Nick Robertson, Ben Danford (or maybe Cowan), and the Colorado 1st in 2027 or maybe a 2nd (depending on if Cowan is part of the deal).
To Columbus: Maverick Bourque (sign-and-trade), one of Aktyamov or Hildeby

Generally more players or picks might need to be involved, but have been thinking about this sort of deal. Dallas won't win this summer in any deal. They're going to have to make uncomfortable moves and I feel like Robertson stays. If so, I think picking up his brother helps a lot to keep him happy and gets them a middle 6 guy where they don't have anyone really signed and he comes in super cheap. Reality is in the long run I kinda see them both ending up somehow in LA or Anaheim. Dallas may need to come to terms with the idea they're not bringing back both Bourque and Robertson, so maybe this is a good compromise. Columbus doesn't get Knies, but they do get Bourque who is a wonderful player, and they get a potential starting goalie that they can build up into a strong goalie over the years. Personally, would hate to see either of those goalies leave the Leafs, but if that's what it takes to get Werenski, perhaps Leafs management considers it. A lot of players to lose for Toronto, but doesn't feel as painful as losing Knies. Losing Cowan would hurt, but in all honesty I think that name on a Dallas Jersey just makes sense for some odd reason. Also, Leafs may need to eat a Dallas contract in here to really help them with their cap issues….on the high end, maybe it's Seguin's contract. Wouldn't mind taking Bischel off their hands. Maybe somewhere in between like Lindell's contract. I don't know. Anyway, thoughts?

  6. As always, Steve, I learn something new from you every day!

I hope, wish & pray that some of the NJ Devils' fans watch this video to learn exactly what RFA & UFA mean!!! I knew before I watched thus video & argued with them on X. But…they "know everything"! Yeah, sure, right…

    Thank you, again!!!
    Nancy

  7. Maccelli is a good promising player who can put up 50/60 points but hes only good on the top 2 lines otherwise his production goes down and hes just not worth the 4.1+ contract. We got Cowan, Knies, McKenna on lw, sadly theres no room for small skilled wingers on the roster anymore.

  8. Adam keeps saying that Maccelli’s points all came in garbage time, but I think there’s a real chance that it just took him some time to get accustomed to the Leafs. Players on new teams often take some time to get acclimated. I’ll be excited to have him back if we do re-sign him to a reasonable cap hit – I think he could be a solid 3rd line contributor for the Leafs.
