Flyers #1 problem is their inability to score on the power play. Their first round selection is a 6'7'' stay at home defensemen who will never play on the power play.
Briere doesn't know how to draft. Sokolovskii might have been a really good pick, in 1986. In the current NHL, guys like him are 3rd pairing or extra defensemen. I was angry at how bad last year's draft was, other than Martone being gifted to them at #6 overall. This year I was resigned to it.
Something is sure they're not draft the best available in the first round, its a mistake early in the draft. 3 years in a row aside of Martone
People saying Briere can't draft don't know puck if they think they can judge the prospects this soon.

We will see how Free Agency shakes out in a few days along with some big name players possibly getting traded.
But we are in Year 4 of the rebuild and still no 1C or 1D on this roster.
