Ottawa didn't just go off the board with Hoen imo, they went off the radar. Never even heard of this guy once in the past 2-3 months ever since people started talking about the draft.
The Leafs should have gone after Verhoeven, like a dog after a bone!! They should have offered, Matchelli, Robinson, Reilly for him!!!
I’m a Canucks fan and very happy with our 2 day selections but SJ seriously just operated like my NHL 26 franchise mode dear lord.. what a draft for them!

Luck is a two way street. Look at the sharks "luck" that built their franchise in 91 and 92 draft.

So guys that drop down boards during the season become steals cause people recognize there ranking for months or years. But guys who soar up boards who must have played great to do so… become reaches. If you’re falling there’s a reason for it.

I’d consider the Rangers winners too. Smits wasn’t the sexiest pick but for what the team needs I thunk it was solid and getting Dorofeyev for their 2nd first round pick, 2nd rounder & conditional 2028 1st was an excellent saving face move for Drury. The team needed a move like that who can play heavy minutes and actually put the puck in the net.
