  1. If the Wings can get good value in a younger high ceiling kid,, make a deal,, he will leave as a free agent if you do not,, an other T.O. situation like Marner,,, get something while the iron is hot,,, Kane will be gone and so will Cat…

  2. In retrospect, Larkin should have been traded at the beginning of this rebuild instead of trying to make him a centerpiece of a theoretical cup contending team

  3. Speaking FA what about Laughton replacement for J.T? He's one of the most dependable 3rd 4th line C in the league.
Taking a chance on FA Laine on the cheap short term. Playing on the RW 2nd or 3rd line.
    What about Peke?

    My thoughts or hope was;
    Robo/EP/Ray
    Cat/Kas//Kane
    Finnie/Laugh/Mav
    Maz/Comp/Daniel

    Ed/Sieder
    Chariot/Peke
    Johan/ASP

No Faulk because I would of trade him with Larkin + 2nd for Robo and Mav

Getting EP on a trade with the Canucks 25% to 15% retained

Dallas wants and needs help on D

Appleton, J.T and NYG to the minors or trade.

I don't know…. I'm just sitting here like everyone else, like come on I see move why are we sitting.
    The radio silence is deafening….

  4. Personally I think the wings did Cossa a disservice not giving him games last season. It's not fair to say he couldn't play in the NHL with no experience there, the last No.1 goalie the team drafted and developed took 6 years of AHL experience before moving up.. yeah Howard..
The recent history makes me feel like this management team has terrible player evaluation skills.

  5. Good goaltending prospects can always be flipped for quality skating prospects so the strong goaltending pipeline might really pay off in the future.

  6. Besides Yzerman being Steve Belichick, i was encouraged that he had the same feel of the request. I took it as, Dylan has 5 years on his contract and i dont have to move him. Im a little conflicted about it. I would like see Larkin being traded for good younger value before the season started, along with Gibson and Faulk being moved. I also want to see Dylan be stuck in Detroit for 5 years, just to see him booed at, just out of spite.

  7. I feel like one thing people dont talk about is how hollands 2 drafts in 2017 and 2018 also set us back years because we got pretty much nothing from those drafts and we could of picked better players in both if stevie was the gm for those drafts I feel like he would of drafted better in both but it was still holland so it is what it is but he set us back more years by having back to back bad drafts to start our rebuild

  8. The "i'm a wings fan" bit was just Hurlbert shoveling shit. Kids born and raised in Texas and his family are all big Dallas Stars fans. Lying little shit.

  9. Brad's wrong about letting Cossa play NHL games, there was a better chance he would have hurt his trade value if you let him play games with the Wings. People criticize Yzerman for not being bold & decisive, but he was in this case.

  10. Trading Cossa was so fuckin stupid. Keep signing old washed up bums instead of playing our picks. We've been doing this for like 35 years, fuck this team. "We got Augustine, Postsva, Gylander, Guimond" yea we dont play them. Not one of them has a game played. So we traded him for another guy who will take at least 7 years to play, if he ever plays or we trade him.

  11. I never thought Cossa would pan out. His skillset consisted of being big and didn't flop like a fish. That works amazingly well in the A and ECHL but will probably fall apart in the NHL. I hope for Cossa that I'm wrong but I doubt it.

Hurlbert is exactly what this team needs (along with a true needle mover that we needed anyways). This whole log jam this team has of 200 foot players that will never make it past GR is getting old. Old to where these guys will move on and we get nothing. It's not that they will amount to much but we wasted years on them and still can't make the playoffs. Defensive liabilities? We have an entire team that can worry about that as long as he does the minimum. This team is desperate for goals and character. He seems to fit the bill.

  12. We need DeBrinkat to say how much he wants to stay and he hopes we bring back Cane Even with Copp at center, they were our best line. Now to bring in EP40 and a winger to join Raymond on the first line – that would be great. Get rid of the over-priced and under producing veterans (you know who I mean) and fill the bottom six with the GR Griffins prospects. What a plan.

  13. In Cossas defense, he probably should have been given a real NHL shot in the past 2-3 seasons given the goaltending carousel the Wings have been on. Having said that, the trade value was good and we definitely need more scoring forwards over Goaltending prospects.

  14. Because he waited too long he got a 23rd first round pick for an NHL ready young goaltender. There are several teams looking for goalies. I think he could have done better than that prior to the draft. Dumb.

  15. With all of the chaos going on with trading Larkin, does Cat want to stay or go, will Kane come back if the others are gone. I haven't really heard anyone else talk about it, but you guys should do an episode on how this affects Todd McLellan.
He came to the Wings when they were on the brink of being a playoff team and they hoped that he was the coach to get them over that line. If they are losing these players and going into a retool/rebuild again, then what happens to him. I'm sure at this stage of his career he never expected to be in this position after a season and a half.

What do you guys think, will he want to stay and coach in this type of situation or will the Wings need to bring in someone else?
Would like to hear your thoughts on this.
